Art Workshop Excursion: Exploring the Creative Journal

April 9 - April 9
9 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Join artist and master teacher Linda Muttitt in her studio in Fort Langley for an inspiring and relaxing day of journaling. Be enthralled by the creative potential of the journaling process, and how writing and art can be woven together in amazing ways. Discover how to use journals as a powerful means of self-expression while having lots of fun!

There are endless possibilities for what a journal can be: a place to explore your thoughts, feelings, wonderings, memories, hopes, plans, dreams; it can also be a place to breathe out your imaginings through visual play, writing poetry or just throwing down words and phrases that pop into your mind.

There are no rules, just openings into your own way of seeing the world. The pages themselves can change shape, from cutting the pages to fit the subjects you’re thinking about, or stretching the length of the pages to measure the bounty of thoughts that present themselves to you.

The specific art materials needed for the projects you’ll be working on will be provided at the workshop. Journals will also be provided as part of your workshop fees.

Please bring the following items: scissors, pencil, writing pens (Micron .05 or .08 recommended), and white glue. If you’re missing any of these, there will be extras to borrow at Linda’s studio.

Bring your own lunch.

Bus leaves from the Ferry Building Gallery.
