Beyond the Basics – Advanced Monoprinting on a Gel Plate

This intimate workshop is suitable for those familiar with gel plate printing who wish to learn resist and transfer printing using a variety of methods, including laser prints of your own photos, charcoal drawing transfers, and pan pastels.

Printing with a gel plate is a recent addition to the artist’s toolkit and is gaining traction as an essentially painterly method that allows for multiple yet unique prints from the same plate, without a press.

Students will need to bring a gel plate, paper, brayer, acrylic paints and some high quality laser prints — a detailed supply list will be provided.

Jennifer Anne Love has been an artist and teacher for over 40 years. Hand painted fabrics or papers are fundamental to her art practice. She studied textile arts at Capilano College and has participated in exhibitions on the Sunshine Coast, Bowen Island, Vancouver Island, and in Vancouver.
