Intro to the Art of Cross Stitching

In this introductory workshop, you will learn basic cross-stitch skills, techniques, and tips. Artist Mallory Donen will demonstrate and guide you through a simple tulip pattern and show you how to neatly finish your cross-stitch project in a small hoop. All skill levels and experience are welcome. All supplies will be provided: cross-stitch pattern, small hoop, Aida cloth, a needle, embroidery thread, and felt for backing.

About the artist

Mallory Donen is a multidisciplinary artist residing in Vancouver. Mallory has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of the Fraser Valley, and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Manitoba. Mallory’s art explores the intersection of digital art and embroidery, through processes rooted in traditional craft passed down from generations of women in her family.
