About the instructor
Haley Hunt-Brondwin is a visual artist and designer from the west coast of BC, splitting her time between “Vancouver” and qathet. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Emily Carr University. Haley has an interdisciplinary practice currently focused in painting and tapestry. Her work explores the qualities of human relationships and our phenomenological and physiological relationship to landscapes and the Natural world. Haley is interested in what is revealed amongst and within points of connection and disconnection – always in pursuit of the balance between tension and harmony.
Haley's art practice has evolved to include a focus in the fibre arts. Weaving and tapestry as a means of exploring tradition and human history specifically female lineage and its connection to hand crafts in that history. Fibre is a very visceral and relatable medium. Haley is interested in fibre's ability to draw parallels to the physical body and the experience of being in one’s own body.
