Capilano University Student Poster Show

Opening Reception: Thursday, March 7, 6–8 p.m.

Closing Reception: Sunday, April 7, 2–4 p.m.

The Ferry Building Gallery is pleased to present the annual poster show with students from Capilano University’s IDEA School of Design. IDEA Interprets: Danger explores a single theme through typography and illustration. Join the second-year design students as they unpack the theme of danger.

The IDEA School of Design has a four-year Bachelor of Design in Visual Communications, with concentrations in branding, illustration, and interactive design. Students in this program study current visual communication practices and learn how to identify and solve communication problems with original and creative design thinking.

Upon graduation, the students will have proficiency with the tools and technologies that support visual communication practice and the ability to apply these concepts across a range of media platforms. They learn how to recognize physical, cognitive, economic, cultural, and societal human factors that shape visual communication decisions and understand how to work collaboratively with other disciplines in business, industry, and the broader community.
