Tayvie Van Eeuwen

Tayvie Van Eeuwen – Passage Beading

Tayvie Van Euwen, a Vancouver-based artist, is Ojibwe and Métis from the Saulteaux nation in Manitoba, along with settler descent from Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands. At the beginning of COVID-19, Tayvie encouraged her mother to teach her the traditional art of beading as a way to reconnect and heal with their ancestors. As time went on, Van Eeuwen and her mother healed each other through fringe beadwork, and Van Eeuwen was inspired to share her work with the community. Starting off as a personal project, Van Eeuwen has since grown her business and continues to make her ancestors proud.
