About the artist

Daniela Ocaña studied watercolour at the Museo de La Acuarela del Estado de México, completed a Diploma in Museum Studies at the Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Mexico, and studied art at the Forum Art Center and at Emily Carr University of Art and Design.

Inspired by her Mexican family traditions and encouraged to pursue her artistic talents, Daniela is quickly gaining recognition for her Mexican painting style, which provide a powerful insight into the history and traditions of Mexican Culture. Her artwork is characterized by the freedom of expression using the flow of the watercolour medium, achieving dark tones that contrast with the colour explosion represented by the Mexican traditions.
