Barbara Hirano

Barbara Hirano, a Vancouver-based artist, has dedicated her life to ceramics, painting, and sculpture. After studying archaeology and anthropology at Simon Fraser University, she was inspired by prehistoric artists and their use of oxides in cave paintings and pottery. 

Barbara further developed her craft at Capilano University and under the mentorship of Donna MacLaren. She later taught and managed pottery studios across British Columbia. Now retired, Barbara continues to share her passion for clay through workshops, inspiring new artists.
