Repositioning: Tales from a MOA Residency

Join ceramic artist Sharon Reay for an illustrated lecture exploring her recent nine-month residency at the UBC Museum of Anthropology. This residency gave her freedom to explore the myriad of ceramics and other works in the museum’s permanent collections, drawing inspiration and influencing the development of her own craft. Sharon will show images taken during her time working in the Ceramic Laboratory at MOA and talk about her experience. She will share the journey from working full time at a city-run arts facility for 27 years to discovering the freedom of experimentation in a new setting and the joy of being able to exchange stories and share what she was learning with both local and international visitors to the museum.
